Wine Tasting & Pairing

Friday night we will be featuring Garden Pantry Pasta E Fagioli Soup from Grand Shire Farm, located between Sand Lake and Cedar Springs, Michigan. This Italian soup is filled with flavorful herbs, tomatoes and beans. Connie Hanson has created several flavors of these soups we carry just in time for the cold weather. Many mixes can be prepared by just adding water; others you can add your own cooked meat.

Our wines for the evening will include Tavernello, 1924 Cabernet Sauvignon, and Mawby Redd. Tavernello is a Sangiovese wine, vibrant red in color with violet hues and an intense nose of red fruits. On the palate it is bursting with fruit flavors or red cherries and blackberries. The 1924 Cabernet Sauvignon is ripe in flavor and soothing in mouthfeel. It is full-bodied and coats the palate with jammy blackberry, wood smoke and cocoa flavors. It has a rich texture, mild tannins, and concentrated fruit components that come together nicely. Mawby Redd from Suttons Bay, Michigan, is a not too dry, not too sweet red sparkling wine. This wine has aromas of ripe dark berries and sweet soil with full fruit flavors and the light mouthfeel of a sparkling wine. Join us Friday night from 5-8:30 p.m.
