This Good Friday, from 5 to 8 PM, indulge in new wines and enjoy great company. Arny will be preparing pasta with Carfagna’s homemade vodka sauce. The vodka enhances flavors in the tomato that are typically unreachable, resulting in a delicious tomato-based sauce. It is creamy, cheesy, and exceptionally rich, made with genuine fresh cream. The wine featured tonight is from Fenn Valley in Fennville. After conducting thorough research on the property and the winemaking process, the Welsch family from Chicago acquired the Fenn Valley Vineyards site in 1973. Originally a struggling fruit farm, the 230-acre property was cleared to establish the vineyard. Cultivating grapes in Michigan for wine production presents significant challenges. The conditions must be ideal—sandy soil, moderate winter and summer temperatures, and rolling terrain to facilitate natural airflow. With over 50 years of expertise, Fenn Valley has successfully produced world-class wine, even amidst Michigan’s challenging climate.
