The Sordid Story Of Puttanesca

We've got a new pasta sauce at our weekly wine tasting and pairing - Carfagna's Puttanesca Pasta – which roughly translates to “lady of the night”. For details on the origin, you’ll have to come to the store tonight and hear Arny’s telling of the story. Suffice it to say, it’s not one for the children to hear! We’ll be pairing it with Terranoble Gran Reserva Carmenere. This wine shows a purple-red color. It stands out for its ripe black fruits, spicy notes, and soft touches of bitter chocolate. It feels concentrated on the palate with sweet and round tannins and a touch of chocolate in its ending, which comes from its aging process in French oak barrels. We’ll also be tasting Fenn Valley Cherry Wine. New to the store, this is a true fruit wine made from fresh Michigan-grown cherries. The powerful fruit aroma fills the senses with the fragrance of ripe cherries and the crisp tartness of the natural fruit is captured in this lightly sweet bright red wine. To finish the night with dolce, we’ll be pairing Mawby Sparkling City wine. This wine is produced from a combination of white wine grapes from various vineyards which are carefully harvested and gently pressed. After fermentation the flavorful young wines are blended, producing the delicate natural effervescence. It is both full and sweet on the palate.

We are excited to share our new products and offerings with you! Our outdoor seating area will be open and you will be invited to enjoy a glass in the cool summer breeze. Join us Friday night from 5-8 p.m.
