Mmmmm - Vodka!

We hope you’ve had a fabulous week! What better way to “wine” down then joining us from 5-8 p.m. Friday at our weekly wine tasting! Arny will be serving up Carfagna’s Homemade Vodka Sauce. Grandmother Nonna Maria taught the Carfagna family how to make celebrated Italian food using authentic recipes from the Abruzzo-Molise Region of Italy. With each of their homemade products, Carfagna’s follow her advice and use only the freshest, premium products available. They take their time making each delicious product so you don’t have to! The vodka releases flavors in the tomato that are normally inaccessible resulting in this tomatoey sauce. It is creamy, cheesy, and very rich, made with fresh real cream.

Our wines for the evening are Castello Del Poggio Moscato from Italy, Beran Sonoma County Zinfandel from California, and Buehler Vineyards White Zinfandel from Napa Valley. The Moscato is America’s (and Wayland’s) favorite, beloved for its notes of fresh orange blossom flower, white peach and honey that lead to a crisp, lingering finish. The Beran Zinfandel has aromas of just-baked blueberry pie, raspberry and dark chocolate with hints of vanilla oak that leads to a palate that is rich and elegant. This wine has beautiful red and black berry fruit flavors, with hints of cloves and pepper. The Buehler White Zinfandel is a terrific everyday sipper. Hand-picking their 100% zinfandel fruit riper than most producers leaves less residual sugar. Riper fruit translates to flavors like wild berries and strawberries. The end result is a wine with more red zinfandel berry character and a less sweet, more refreshing taste.

We have “walktails” now in-store sold with ice so you can mix your own drinks easily and conveniently. We also have “wobblypops” from Western Sun, adult ice pops, for you to enjoy in the warm weather. Come check out all our new products!
