Merry Christmas!

Join us tonight from 5-8 p.m. for our take on charcuterie made with meats and cheeses new to the store. Charcuterie, pronounced shahr-KOO-tuh-ree, is just a fancy word for cured meat. The word derives from French origins in the 15th century, when people used every last bit of the meat and left nothing to waste. The meat was then put through a preservation process of curing and often formed into some sort of sausage or dry-aged meat. Remember, this was before refrigeration, so salt, vinegar, and smoke were essential in the meat preservation process. What used to be called a fancy "meat and cheese board" is now a culinary staple for gatherings, catered events, and restaurant menus. Charcuterie brings together all your favorite finger foods in one place. Our wines include Chateau Fontaine Riesling, a wonderfully complex wine with peach and apricot notes, and a finish of minerality, well balanced with sweetness and acidity; Barista Pinotage from South Africa, a deep red wine with a burst of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with ripe nuances of mulberry, plum and maraschino cherries; and Castello del Poggio Moscato from Italy, a wine with perfectly ripe grapes that highlight the bright fruit expression, beloved for its notes of fresh orange blossom flower, white peach and honey that lead to a crisp, lingering finish. We look forward to serving you!
