Tonight's Tasting

We look forward to serving you at our weekly wine tasting and pairing from 5-8 p.m. Tonight we’ll be featuring Clean Slate Riesling, Le Grand Pinot Noir and Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec. Arny will be preparing delicious Garden Pantry Broccoli Cheese Soup with rotisserie chicken.

Clean Slate is the product of a partnership between Moselland of Germany and Winebow, a top US importer, distributor and developer of fine wines from around the world. The thin slate stones of their vineyards in the Mosel River Valley are a critical factor in crafting this Riesling of exquisite balance. So precious are those stones that legend has those which slip into the river are carefully carried back up the treacherously steep vineyard slopes and returned to place. Reflecting and retaining heat, the slate is essential to ripening grapes in the cool climate, developing the wine’s fresh peach, crisp lime and subtle mineral flavors.

Brand created by Robert Joseph and Hugh Ryna, Le Grand wines are produced by Jean d’Alibert Winery in France. A very distinctive and immediately enjoyable Pinot Noir, Le Grand is a very juicy, raspberry, cherry flavored wine with hints of strawberry and oak and a refreshing note of pepper. The velvety tannins are nicely balanced by ripe red fruit flavors layered with vanilla and spice. This is one of Acqua In Vino’s popular Pinot Noirs.

Purple-colored wine, the nose of the Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec offers up plum and black cherry notes with a touch of black pepper. The palate is soft and round with ripe, saturated berry flavors. It finishes spicy and full with chewy tannins. The Argentina vineyards are located between 2,460 and 3,608 feet above sea level.

Come enjoy the evening with us!
