This Friday, September 24, from 5-8 p.m., in partnership with Fenn Valley Winery and Simply Celia's, Acqua In Vino will be highlighting SowHope’s Annual Fundraising Gala with an in-store wine event. SowHope is a Michigan-based nonprofit that works to inspire impoverished women around the world through wellness, education, and economic opportunities (www.sowhope.org). This year we are thrilled to be celebrating the 15-year anniversary of SowHope’s Making a Difference in over 100,000 lives!
This event is a fundraiser. The cost will be $15 per person and will cover your wine pours with a robust charcuterie plate and dolce. As stated earlier, Fenn Valley Winery and Simply Celia's have agreed to partner with us for the evening. All proceeds from the wine event will be donated to SowHope. We will be setting up a television for viewing informational videos on SowHope and our staff is available to answer any questions you may have. There will also be envelopes and internet links available for you to become partners with SowHope.
In some of the areas that SowHope serves, 1 out of every 50 mothers dies during childbirth. Through the construction of new birthing centers, SowHope works to provide safe access to maternal healthcare. Women make up two-thirds of the illiterate population in the world. SowHope has provided over 25,000 women with education classes that teach them to read, write, and do math, opening the door to business, public influence, personal growth, and freedom. Most recently, SowHope’s partner in Afghanistan is trying to help women with basic aid, mobile healthcare, emergency shelter, and the first young girls shelter in the history of the country. Through microfinance, SowHope is empowering women to have long-lasting and positive community impact. We would encourage you to consider investing in this very worthy organization.
