First Friday Bourbon!

Every 1st Friday of the month you have the option to pair bourbons instead of wine at our weekly pairing and pouring. Tonight's option contains three, 1.5 oz pours of bourbon from our top shelves which now contain over 30 different types. There is a slight difference in price if you choose the bourbon option. Our wines for the evening include 2019 Pinot Noir, 2019 Riesling, and 2021 Gewurztraminer from Chateau Fontaine, a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula. Chateau Fontaine is focused on making world class, fruit-forward wines, at a reasonable price. Opened in 2000, Dan and Lucie Matthies started growing grapes in 1987 and made their first Chardonnay in 1998. Starting with Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, Chateau Fontaine now grows 15 varietals and produces some of the most awarded wines in Michigan. As a pairing for our main course, Arny will be preparing Cacio e Pepe with peas. A pleasant peppery pasta dish, Cacio e Pepe is tossed with an emulsified sauce of cheese and black pepper that is bound by starchy pasta cooking water. The heat melts the cheese, while the starches in the water help bind the pepper and cheese to the pasta. Join us tonight from 5-8 p.m. for this unique downtown experience.
