Chasing The Rain

This week's tasting and pairing will feature local film production/post-production manager Sandra Jones Hoffbeck, highlighting her newly released film, "Chasing The Rain". Sandra (production/post-production manager, accountant, wardrobe supervisor) has been working in and managing theater for years. Her collaborations with Cindy Jansen (writer, director, and producer) in Kalamazoo for the past 15 years, beginning with their theater production "The 2nd Day", (written by Cindy) forged them on a path to flap their wings on a bigger scale and move from local theater into the film world.

Sandra has called Shelbyville home for the last 25 years and is a big fan of Acqua in Vino. She began her career as an environmental engineer with Menasha Corporation in Otsego. Introduced to theater by her father, who was President of Green Bay Community Theater for 15 years, she was drawn to the creative world, bringing her linear thinking style to theater and film. She has facilitated the start up of three successful southwest theater companies. Motivated by questions, she will tenaciously research until answers are discovered. Everything she does business-wise and organizationally is driven by her passion for the art. Drawn to the complexity and healing power of the story “Chasing The Rain”, Sandra has been driven to get this movie to the public and not limited to a handful of people reading the screenplay before it got relegated to a dresser drawer in the attic.
