Celebrate Pure Michigan!

Last week we transformed you to Italy with our tastings and pairings. This week we are celebrating Pure Michigan. All our wines are from Michigan and Arny is preparing all Michigan-made products for each course.

We will be featuring Chateau Grand Traverse Semi-Dry Riesling, Black Star Farms Pear Wine, and Meritage from Fenn Valley. With flavors of ripe apple, lemony-citrus and pear, there is a slight sweetness to the Semi-Dry Riesling providing an exceptional white wine for most any occasion. Open a bottle of the Black Star Farms Pear Wine and experience the intense aromatics of pure pear, succulent flavors, and a delightful fruit essence. In Meritage, a blend of three varieties is superior to any of the wines by themselves. The Cabernet Franc contributes the black cherry fruit flavor, the Cabernet Sauvignon gives a black pepper quality, and the Merlot contributes a light earthy fruit character. As expected, no one variety stands out; they all work together to create a harmonious blend of flavors that complement each other.

You’ll be tasting Farm Country Cheeses from Lakeview, The Blueberry Store Sausages from South Haven, our own Acqua in Vino bread, Al Dente Pasta from Whitmore Lake, and treats from Cherry Republic in Glen Arbor and Chunk Nibbles from Troy.
