We have a delicious wine tasting and pairing planned for you Friday night from 5-8 p.m. as downtown Wayland celebrates Art Hop. During Art Hop the downtown is transformed into a celebration with many Christmas festivities. The streets are closed so guests may walk safely from the different venues. Artists will appear in various downtown businesses showcasing and selling their art. In addition to art, there will be many family-friendly activities including horse and wagon rides, Dickens Characters, strolling carolers, musicians, and the annual Christmas tree lighting.
We’ll be starting our pairing with Rose Infinie Rosé (Côtes de Provence). This ripe wine is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and white Vermentino. It offers brilliant red-fruit flavors, crisp acidity and a light, bright character. With our main course we will be pairing Cono Sur Bicicleta Merlot. A wine of remarkable fruit expression, this wine's plum-red coloring is dark and intense. In nose, concentrated notes of black fruit and soft hints of sweet toasted oak. The palate surprises with its excellent structure, balanced acidity, fruity intensity and pleasantly ripe tannins. We will finish the pairing with Haraszthy Family Bearitage Lodi Red. This wine is blended using Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Sirah carefully selected from the best barrel batches. Combining these different batches and grape varieties has produced this delicious wine with complementary characteristics. This wine is medium bodied, smooth and beautifully balanced.
Saturday, December 4th, is the Wayland Christmas Parade hosted by the Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce. The parade will begin at 11:00am at the Wayland VFW Post 7581 located at 735 S Main Street. The parade will proceed North on Main, then go West on Superior. The parade will conclude at the Wayland Fire Department, 160 W Superior.
