This evening, during the wine pairing and pouring event from 5-8 p.m., Arny will be crafting a traditional Tuscan-style Panzanella Salad. This quintessential Italian salad, made with bread and tomatoes, is both fresh and seasonal while being substantial enough to serve as a lunch or a light dinner. In the United States, awareness of panzanella did not emerge until the late 1970s. Since then, it has evolved into a summer staple for anyone who has access to high-quality tomatoes. During the preparation, salt extracts moisture from the tomatoes, enhancing the flavor of each piece. This process takes approximately 15 minutes, which coincidentally is the same duration required to toast bread in the oven, and also the time it takes to enjoy a small glass of wine. This salad is one to savor slowly—not only because the warm weather encourages relaxation, but also because the texture of the bread will continue to evolve as you enjoy it. The wines featured for the evening include Angeline Cabernet Sauvignon, a fruit-forward and approachable wine with notes of rich cherry, black currant, and plum; Fenn Valley Vino Blanco, a dry and crisp white wine inspired by the renowned Portuguese Vinho Verde; and Neyah Sparkling Rosé, a Spanish sparkling wine that provides a silky, light, and refreshing flavor, accentuated by a delightful pink sparkle.
