Because of its popularity, we decided to bring back Texas Tamale Company's gourmet-quality tamales at our wine tasting and pairing tonight. These main course tamales will be paired with Sangria Wine from Cascade Winery. Sangria is a mixed alcoholic drink originating in Spain. The color of sangria depends on the wine. There are several regional variations of sangria, so ingredients vary. In addition to wine, traditional sangria may contain fruit juice, sweeteners such as simple syrup, sparkling water, fresh fruit, and perhaps some flavored liquors.
Our charcuterie tonight will be paired with Babich Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. This is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which is consistently produced in a fuller, riper, softer style that develops well. This wine is clean, fresh and tropical with fruit from several vineyards situated throughout Marlborough, New Zealand. We will finish the night with Lafayette Creamery Lemon Curd Ice Cream floats prepared with Lamarca Prosecco. A product of Italy, this sparkling wine is pale golden straw in color. It has a fresh, crisp, refreshing flavor of ripe citrus, lemon and green apple.
We have completed work on the outdoor seating area and it should be open next week. Remember, we can now serve you a glass of wine while you shop or relax. We have a tap list of 4 beers and ciders and a house list of 11 wines to choose from. We're adding new product by the day and plans are still moving forward for our Summer Celebration. Please join us tonight from 5-8 p.m. We look forward to serving you!
