Pasta with tomato sauce may be a predictable Meatless Monday option. But no one has ever accused us of being traditional. Tonight we’re taking a cue from Bon Appetit’s Best New Restaurant in America and adding strawberries to our tomato sauce. Yep. Strawberries. We know it sounds weird, but it is delicious and full of flavor. Considering that tomato is a fruit, the addition of berries isn’t that strange. It's super simple, fresh and tastes just like what’s in it and that’s all.
Our wine pairings for the evening include Vernaccia from Italy, a pale wine with dry, persistent fruity tastes; Bar Dog Cabernet Sauvignon from California, a silky wine with ripe plum and cocoa flavors; and, Roscato Black Cherry from Italy, a semi-sweet wine with distinctive cherry notes combined with hints of almond and vanilla.
The pairing and pouring goes from 5-8 p.m. Scatola di Pasta will also be open in the parking lot serving your favorite pizzas and pastas. Come check out our menu items and taste the difference.
