Friday the 13th!

In Italy, the number 13 is considered lucky because it brings prosperity and life. In the Western Hemisphere, the number thirteen is commonly associated with a negative superstition of being unlucky. However, in Italy, the number seventeen is associated with bad luck. When written in Roman Numerals, XVII, seventeen can be rearranged to spell the Roman word VIXI which means "I have lived." This phrase was often written on ancient gravestones.

We're excited about our comfort pairing tonight from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Our wines include Lakeshore Cranberry from Fenn Valley, a perfect combination of wine and cranberries, served it on its own or as a fun component of a mixed drink; Gratien & Meyer Brut Rose, a very fine salmon-pink color wine with fine effervescence, offering subtle aromas of raspberry and strawberry with a hint of red currant; and Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico. By law, modern-day Chianti wines must be made from at least 70 percent Sangiovese grape. For the region’s most prestigious wines, this minimum rises to 80 percent. Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico wine has received good scores from various critics and is one of the most popular wines from the region. Now, how about some comfort soup. Arny will be preparing Octoberfest Stew from Grand Shire Farms. Instead of just adding water, this soup calls for water and beer, along with sliced Italian sausage. Other ingredients include beef gravy, cabbage, onion potatoes and carrots.

Reverse the trend and make Friday the 13th your lucky day with a good attitude and a relaxed approach. Spend part of your day counting your blessings and plan on joining us tonight on this Friday the 13th, your lucky evening!
