First Friday Bourbon Night

It's the first Friday of the month, and you know what that means – time for bourbon night! Here's something fascinating: did you realize that bourbon was once considered medicinal? During Prohibition in 1919, the government actually issued special permits allowing doctors to prescribe whiskey for health purposes. Even President Harry Truman followed his doctors' advice by starting each morning with a shot of bourbon. After his daily dose of "medicine," he'd enjoy a brisk walk accompanied by his secret service team and staff. Word has it that President Truman's preferred bourbon was Old Grandad, a brand produced at the Jim Beam distillery in Kentucky. This bourbon was created by Raymond B. Hayden and named in honor of his grandfather, Basil Hayden Sr., a respected distiller of his era. Each bottle features a charming portrait of Hayden Sr. on its label. We're thrilled to welcome you Friday between 5-8 p.m.
